The main forms of social media used by many bands or artists are Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Our band is of an indie rock genre and if we look at indie rock bands such as the arctic monkeys, they have an active instagram account, twitter account, and facebook account.
Their page is very sophisticated, with a lot of promoting their new song or music video and not much about what the band is getting up to or more personal information.
Social Media is a good form of marketing because lots of people have it and therefore, post anything and it's likely to be seen by a large amount of people. This is why institutions use it because it a fast and effective way to promote new content. It is for these reasons that my group and I will be using social media to promote our campaign as it is a guaranteed way of getting our band's image out to the largest amount of people.
The ways that my group and I can link our album and video to this form of media is that for example on Instagram we can share the whole of the behind the scenes on IGTV which allows you to post videos that are longer than 60 seconds. Instagram also allows you to add links in bios and the same applies to twitter and facebook, therefore allowing us to provide our audience with easy access to our music video.
