Spreadability

To briefly summarise the term spreadability, we can look at the quote spoken by Henry Jenkins which says "if it doesn't spread, it's dead".

But there are many different qualities that go into something like a piece of social media content to make sure it has the capability of spreading.

For example;

if we look at Bella Poarch,

Her main platform of social media that she uses is TikTok.

This is because it is a very interactive site to use, in that the videos posted have a comment section where Bella Poarch could potentially like someone's comment or reply, therefore creating a larger connection with her audience. Bella Poarch can also make videos using popular songs or trendy sounds, this therefore gives her more awareness and makes it more likely for people to share her posts.

Bella Poarch also has an instagram account.

Like tiktok this is an interactive platform in that there is a comment section underneath posts. But since instagram is a more used app globally and used by a much older audience as well as younger, this is where she decides to promote her music. Since therefore its more likely to be seen and shared to a huge range of different people, and then more people will know about it.

When applying the method of spreadability to our own campaign, my group and I will probably use the following:

TikTok

Instagram

This is because our band consists of young faces and is targeting at a youthful audience.

We will use instagram to promote their video and song, and then TikTok to show the band members different personalities and create a connection with the audience. Also, as mentioned these two platforms have a very interactive set up which is my we'll be using them.
